The Crew

The Crew: Quest for Planet Nine is a trick taking adventure through space. You and your crew members will work together to battle through challenges of increasing difficulty to try and find the mysterious Planet Nine. As a team you will have to beat each of the 50 scenarios in order to claim to be the very best crew in space.

Each round you will read the snippet of story from the scenario booklet which will introduce the rules for that scenario. These will alter the win requirements for each game as well as altering the in game rules slightly too. As you continue in the campaign, you will find the challenges get harder and harder to complete. You will have certain players being required to win tricks containing specific cards. The challenge comes from the fact that you cannot speak about the cards you have, so you must try to deduce how best to win tricks in the right order to complete the challenge.

This game shines best at 3 or more players, however with the use of a dummy player, the two-player version is still a blast to play through. This presents a new challenge as some of the information is already available face up between you, but 9 cards are also hidden face down and must be revealed as the game progresses. If you enjoy trick taking games and fancy a scenario based challenge then you simply cannot go wrong with The Crew.
