Just when you think you have seen all the themes there are along comes Bargain Quest - a game about selling equipment to heroes! That’s right you play a fantasy shop keeper. Through drafting cards which represent items, weapons, shop improvements and staff, you will attempt to attract the most renown heroes to battle the monsters around the village with equipment you have flogged them!

This is all illustrated beautifully, including shop boards where you will choose which items to place in the window (thus attracting heroes to your shop) and which to sell. You can use money to hire staff and improve your shop, and money comes more quickly if your items are used to vanquish monsters.

Item cards are gained through a standard card draft. Each player is dealt four cards which they look at, choose one and then pass the remaining three to the player on the left. This is repeated until each player has four item cards.

One item will be placed into your window display. This item is only used to attract customers - it will not be sold that round. The player with the most attractive item gets first choice of heroes to sell too. Each hero will have a set amount of money that they may spend. Item cards will provide various buffs for the heroes to take on the monsters with.

Monsters provide victory points and coins to successful heroes and also track the game length with the game ending when the monster cards have run out. Bargain Quest has a lot of variety baked into the core box, but there are also a number of expansions available that add more variety and fun!
