Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Orlog Dice Game

Orlog is a 2-player dice game that was invented to be played by the characters in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It has now been realised as a table top version by PureArts under license from Ubisoft as ORLOG: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla dice game. Orlog was never an actual game that was played by the Vikings but has been created by Ubisoft to reflect the feel of the sort of game they may have played based on the intense level of research the studios put into their products.

Orlog is played in 3 rounds alternating between the 2 players. After each roll you may reserve some of your dice and just roll the rest like Yahtzee or Poker Dice. The dice depict two types of attack : arrow and axe, the corresponding defences: shield and helmet and a grasping hand which allows you to steal the opponents God Favor tokens. Some of the faces have a dotted outline which will grant a God Favor token. The dice are not all the same and there are more of some symbols on them than others.

At the end of the 3 rounds the Resolution phase sees Attacks paired against defences with any unmatched attacks causing the loss of a health stone. God Favor Cards can then be played costing a number of God Favor Tokens. There are 20 different Gods to grant favor and you may choose to have three in each game. These will either aid or mitigate attacks or replenish health.

The game ends when one player has lost 15 Health and will take about 20 minutes.
