Alvin Ailey (Reading Raibow Book)

A simply told, but inspiring, story focuses on four periods in Ailey's life, which lead to his founding of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. The scratchboard drawings, hand colored with oil pastels, convey Ailey's grace as a dancer, as well as his strength and pride in what he is doing.
