Max is a true believer. In data, in tech - and in their power to make the world a better place. But when he glimpses silicon Valley's sinister side, he knows the only play is to shake up our increasingly virtual reality. He recruits his two best friends, genius programmer Akiko (who Max secretly pines for) and muscle-bound Shane (who has been dating Akiko forever), and their hacking skills quickly catch the attention of a reclusive billionaire tech baron.

Soon, they're hailing private jets to Pacific islands and hatching plans in mansions perched on Balkan mountaintops - until they learn that ideals dreamt up with friends get complicated when the world hangs in the balance. As the lines in their love triangle blur and their actions grow increasingly reckless, the trio must find a way to fix the system . . . without breaking it for good.
